The Enemy Without

“The more I learn about these aliens, the more I come to understand what drives them, the more I hate them. I hate them for what they are and for what they may one day become. I hate them not because they hate us but because they are incapable of good, honest, human hatred.” – Inquisitor Angmar On Tyranids

The second of the triumvirate of threats recognized by the Inquisition, aliens have beset man since before the Great Crusade even began. Though known by few, it is in fact the decadence of the alien Eldar which was to blame for the collapse of civilization before the rise of the Empire and for the birth of one of the great Chaos gods. Other alien races pose more direct threats, such as the ravenous and unreasoning Tyranids who live to devour and who think of nothing but their hunger. Regardless of their species, all nonhumans are grouped together under the moniker of Xenos and fall under the purview of the Ordo Xenos Inquisitors.

Those who seek to hold the alien at bay dedicate themselves to knowing their enemy, studying the biology, culture, and technology of their foes while striving to remain uncorrupted by them. Ordo Xenos Inquisitors and their Acolytes know that to listen to the lies of the alien or to fall prey to fear of them is to die and with them dies humanity.
